Senator Zubiri praised PNP Chief “Bato” as the only remaining cop trusted by the Filipino people. This left the PNP Chief emotional and in tears.

Philippine Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri salutes after he announced his resignation at the Senate session hall in Pasay City, Metro Manila August 3, 2011. Zubiri resigned his seat in the Senate due to fresh allegations of election fraud in 2007, which he denied but he said he decided to quit to save family honour. This developed during the probe on the killing of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa.

Chief “Bato” himself admitted that he himself doesn’t know who to fully trust and that he doesn’t blame the public for their lack of trust towards the PNP.

“I cannot blame the public. Maski ako nga, hindi ko na alam kung sino ang pagkakatiwalaan.”

He did, however, reiterate that he is determined to fully reform the organization that he loves so much despite the difficulties he is facing.

He also vowed to never leave the President in his war against drugs.
